Our Mission

The Canadian Longevity Association (CLA) is dedicated to pioneering advancements in the field of longevity research. Our mission is to position Canada as a central hub and critical player in the emerging global longevity industry.

In addition to conducting foundational research on the ethical and social considerations of responsible and inclusive aging and longevity treatments, the CLA strives to engage in outreach efforts to educate the public about the importance of longevity research and treatments, ensuring that knowledge is accessible to all. By facilitating the development of affordable longevity treatments, we aim to improve the quality of life for all Canadians and reduce the healthcare burden on the Canadian system. Additionally, the CLA advocates for effective policies and strategies that promote longevity and healthy living, working closely with policymakers to deliver a strong national longevity strategy.

The Canadian Longevity Association is a federally incorporated nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals, organisations, and governments in Canada in efforts to extend the longevity and healthspan of Canadians.

Healthspan refers to the period of life during which an individual remains healthy, free from serious disease and disability. The importance of extending the healthspan lies in its potential to reduce the burden of age-related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and dementia, thereby improving overall quality of life for individuals and reducing healthcare costs for society.

While the publicly funded Canadian healthcare system provides robust support for clear medical needs, many interventions to extend one’s longevity and healthspan are still outside the scope of the traditional medical system or too nascent to be integrated. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that Canadian individuals who are keen to explore these advancements have access to them in Canada, allowing for their evaluation, testing, and potential wider adoption to benefit all Canadians.

Our mission includes:

  1. Advocating for governmental support of longevity and healthspan initiatives.

  2. Supporting individuals and organisations in Canada in efforts related to extending the longevity and healthspan of Canadians.

  3. Celebrating Canadian contributions to the field of longevity and geroprotection.

  4. Disseminating basic research related to geroprotection and finding on interventions related to longevity and healthspan.

  5. Collaborating with international organisations who are involved in the promotion of  in the science of longevity and healthspan extension.

Our mission is to responsibly advocate for access and support of interventions to improve the longevity and healthspan of Canadians, but we need your support. Joining as a member lets us build a community that aids us in our advocacy efforts. Together, we can promote a healthier, longer life for all Canadians.

Our Vision

The CLA envisions a future where extended healthy lifespans are a reality for all individuals.
